About

Lynbrook Computer Science is an interest group for students of Lynbrook High School. We focus on discussing algorithms and preparing for competitions such as:

  • The USA Computing Olympiad (USACO) – contest page
    • Held 6 times a year online
    • 3-hour competitions, with 4-day windows
    • 3 difficulty levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
    • Silver and Gold are invitation-only (you must perform well to receive an invitation)
  • ProCo
    • In-person competition organized by Stanford
    • Teams of three people
    • Cool prizes!
  • TopCoder
    • Multiple competitions: Algorithms, Architecture Design, Development
    • Algorithms event is interactive; challenge other competitiors’ work for points!
    • Opportunity for cash prizes, and many software companies recruit here.
  • CodeForces
    • Contests every 1-2 weeks.
    • Problems cover wide difficulty range.
    • Highly recommended for beginners.

This club was co-founded in 2008 by David Liu, Brandon Liu, and Ritik Malhotra. Our advisor is Mr. Peck.
